Audemars Piguet Replica Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar John Mayer Limited Edition
Introducing two new products recently unveiled by high-end watch manufacturer replica Audemars Piguet. The two new products presented in the iconic Royal Oak collection reveal the different organs of the Maison. Let’s meet together now.
The Royal Oak Self-Winding Flying Tourbillon Openwork attempts a unique variation on the exterior material based on Caliber 2972, which was first introduced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Royal Oak in 2022. For this model, Audemars Piguet developed an entirely new 18K gold alloy called sand gold. Sand gold, which is a combination of gold, copper, and a trace amount of palladium, has a mysterious tone that looks like a mixture of pink gold and white gold. At first glance, the light brown color makes it seem as if a new type of high-tech material was used rather than gold.
The first Royal Oak, created in 1972 and based on sketches by Gérald Genta (1931-2011), was made of stainless steel. Traditionally, high-end watch manufacturers have preferred gold, a precious metal, but as a way to actively overcome the quartz crisis that struck the 1970s, Audemars Piguet became the first high-end watch manufacturer to begin using steel extensively in its collections. And they took on the challenge head-on with a completely new type of sports replica watches that broke away from the mainstream design. And the result, as you all well know, was a huge success. Meanwhile, royal oak made of gold was also produced steadily. Starting with the 29mm women’s Royal Oak model (Ref. 8638) designed by Jacqueline Dimier, in the same year, 1977, the 39mm men’s Royal Oak model (Ref. 5402) was released in yellow gold, white gold, steel & gold two- A tone version has been released. And in modern times, Royal Oak’s tradition is being continued through new types of materials not seen in the past, such as titanium, ceramic, forged carbon, and tantalum, in addition to steel and gold.
The Royal Oak Self-Winding Flying Tourbillon Openwork, newly introduced in 2024, is the result of the Maison’s continuous efforts to constantly explore new materials based on its long history of gold watch manufacturing. Recently, many luxury watch manufacturers, such as Rolex’s Everose Gold, Omega’s Sedna™ Gold and Moonshine™ Gold, Hublot’s King Gold and Magic Gold, IWC’s Armor Gold, and Panerai’s Goldtech™, have created their own unique recipes. We are presenting an 18K gold alloy completed with . Unlike these others, Audemars Piguet shows off the manufacturer’s advanced technology with a new gold alloy called sand gold.
The Royal Oak Self-Winding Flying Tourbillon Openwork Sand Gold version has a case diameter of 41 mm, a thickness of 10.6 mm, and is water resistant to 50 meters. The iconic design elements of the Royal Oak collection, such as the octagon-shaped bezel with sloping sides and the eight hexagonal screws that secure it, remain unchanged. The light brown tone of the sand gold case and bracelet with a brushed and polished side finish feels elegant and luxurious.
Like its predecessor, the geometric openwork movement is exposed through a transparent see-through structure on the front and back of the case. The main plate and bridge are given a sand gold color through special galvanic treatment to harmonize with the exterior case material. On the other hand, the winding and flying tourbillon cage-related parts, including the barrel, are rhodium-plated, creating a clear contrast with the sand gold color. The in-house automatic tourbillon caliber 2972 has a total of 271 components and 27 components in a movement measuring 31.5 mm in diameter (13 ¾ ligne) and 6.2 mm thick, and vibrates at 21,600 times per hour (3 hertz) and has a power reserve of approximately 65. Time is guaranteed. The specifications are the same as the existing 2972, which debuted in 2022, with only detailed finishing differences.
Royal Oak Self-Winding Flying Tourbillon Openwork Sand Gold Version (Ref. 26735SG.OO.1320SG.01) will be released as a regular model, not a limited edition, and the retail price has not been determined.
